Velichko Minekov (1928 – 2022)
1928 – Born in Malo Konare, Pazardzhik District.
1954 – Graduated from the National Art Academy in Sofia, Major in Sculpture with Professor Lyubomir Dalchev.
1959 – Participated in the First World Youth Biennale in Paris.
1964 – Lecturing in Sculpture at the National Art Academy in Sofia.
1976–1983 – Rector of the National Art Academy in Sofia.
2006 – Awarded the title "Stara Planina", 1st degree, the highest state honour for his overall contribution to the fine arts in Bulgaria.
Velichko Minekov has an impressive record of art shows in Bulgaria and abroad. His works are proudly owned by the National Art Gallery, Sofia City Art Gallery, by a number of art galleries across the country and private collections abroad.
