History

New Bulgarian University’s Gallery UniArt was officially opened on 19th May 2012, the Day of Museums and Galleries in Sofia. The gallery’s permanent exhibition consists of three collections: European Painting, Modern Bulgarian Sculpture and a collection of paintings by Ivan Kirkov (1932-2010). Most of the exhibits present donations by the family of Bojidar Danev, Executive Chairman of the Bulgarian Industrial Association and member of the Board of Trustees at New Bulgarian University.

The gallery allows students at the New Bulgarian University to explore works of art, to carry out projects, to attend seminars and various training sessions. It is a popular venue for a variety of events, including lectures, workshops, theses defences, literary readings, book launches, master classes and chamber concerts.

The collections of the UniArt Gallery are divided into the "European Painting" section, with a collection of paintings from the 16th-19th centuries, and the "Bulgarian Painting" section.
