Solomon's Song of Songs. Echoes

Solomon's Song of Songs. Echoes

"Solomon's Song of Songs. Echoes" – a project of love in image, word, sound and gesture

April 22 – May 30, 2025, UniArt Gallery, New Bulgarian University

Solomon’s “Song of Songs” – one of the most mysterious, sensual and poetic books of the Bible – inspires this project which weaves together visual arts, literature, philosophy, theater, music and dance in a multi-layered dialogue about love. “Solomon’s Song of Songs. Echoes” is an interdisciplinary project centered around an exhibition and a series of events that will take place from April 22 to May 30, 2025 at the UniArt Gallery of the New Bulgarian University.

The project is based on an exhibition presenting the entire cycle of 22 lithographs by Prof. Nikolay Maistorov, donated to NBU, and also includes works by students from the bachelor's programs "Visual Arts", "Graphic Design" and "Animation Film", as well as alumni of the university. The exhibition is a visual interpretation of one of the most influential texts about love – carnal and spiritual, earthly and divine. It creates space for artistic and intellectual echoes, developed through different disciplines and artistic languages.
