Emil Stoychev (1935)
1935 – Was born in Sofia.
1952 – Worked as an artist at the Music Theatre in Sofia.
Since 1960 has participated in various art events in the country.
In 1979 and in 1985 received two awards for the art of painting in the name of Vladimir Dimitrov – The Master.
Since 1991 has been living between Sofia and Paris.
2003 – Decorated with Stara Planina, 1st degree, the highest state honour.
2010 – Doctor Honoris Causa of the National Art Academy.
2011 – Awarded the national Zahari Zograf prize for
outstanding achievements in fine arts.
Emil Stoychev has realized numerous exhibitions in Bulgaria, France, Japan, USA, Germany, Belgium, etc. His paintings are part of the collections of the National Art Gallery, and many more galleries and private collections across Europe, America and Asia.
